Confession: I am guilty of allowing social media to take over my life.
I’ve thought of activities that I could do with Christian and immediately thought of the hashtag that I would use when I shared about it.
I’ve taken a picture of Christian doing something funny/cute/new and then asked him to do it again because the picture I snapped wasn’t “good enough” to share.
I’ve missed out on funny things Christian did because I was so busy glancing around for photo opportunities.

Christian is 5.5 years old now (Wow..time flies! Seems like it was just yesterday that I was sharing the story of his birth). I admit that up until recently, I really didn’t expect him to help out much around the house. I pretty much stuck to asking him to clean up after himself.
I recently took to social media to share something that was on my mind.

I am not perfect.
My house is NEVER spotless.
Spring Cleaning? What’s that?
My son doesn’t go to bed at the same time every night.
We often eat in front of the tv.
I don’t have regularly scheduled playdates.
We don’t have homeschool every week.

One common issue that many work-at-home-moms (WAHMs) face is being able to balance their work life with their family life. I know that it is something that I have struggled with over the years. Especially since I have a young child at home.
One thing that I have often lamented since becoming a mom is the lack of definite traditions in my family. This feeling deepened to a definite sadness after the loss of our matriarch, Madea. It seemed that with her passing, the few traditions we did have came to an end. As time has gone on, I have become more and more determined to start traditions with my son. After all, they have to start somewhere.
