As you may know, I am passionate about helping other moms to be able to stay at home with their kids. I try to pursue this goal in several ways: by inviting moms to join my teams and build successful businesses along with me, by providing moms with information and resources regarding working from home, and by simply supporting other moms and their entrepreneurial endeavors. This Mompreneurs Spotlight series is part of the latter.
My plan is to do a spotlight post at least once a month featuring a mompreneur. This will give each mom a chance to tell her story, share her business, and get a little recognition for her hard work. 🙂
My first Mompreneur Spotlight features Amber Fields.
Amber was a follower of my blog fan page and joined our Single Mommy Warriors support group. I encourage the moms in our group to share if they have a business. She told us about her crocheting & custom jewelry making biz and offered us some great deals on her products. When she showed us what she does I was intrigued. I saw a lot of girly things in there so I asked if she could make anything for boys. She said she could do anything.
At the time I had about 2 weeks until my son’s birthday so I was looking for some things to get him. She has some really cute bottle cap necklaces/chains, so I asked her if she could do one for my son. She said yeah and asked what he likes. I told her Spongebob and the Minions from Despicable Me. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted her to do so she actually said that she would make a Spongebob necklace and throw in a Minion one for free so that Christian could pick which one to wear. Cool!
So now that I had a gift for Christian all picked out, I wanted something for myself! I asked her about her earrings and what she could do. She said anything. Now, I LOVE this show called Supernatural. More specifically, I love the main characters, Dean and Sam. Especially Dean. OMG! DEAN! Lol *relax Tiffany* So, I asked her if she could make a pair of Dean and Same earrings for me. She said yes…and she delivered! She was even able to use the pictures I picked out.
Here are a few pictures of some of the other things she has done. 🙂
She knew I am a Twilight fan, so she showed me these.

Ok, so now here is Amber’s story in her own words:
“I became a single mom when my daughter was 8 weeks old. But from Day 1, I was doing it all on my own. I needed a way to support my family, but I was born with Spina Bifida. So working full time was always something that would never be an option for me in the long term. I had to come up with ways to get the bills paid and survive.
As far back as I can remember, being creative was something that came very natural to me. In 2004, when I saw that handmade fashions were coming back in style, I created Custom Crochet By Amber. I have been crocheting for over 25 yrs. At first it became a way to support my hobby. Since then, I have been able to grow my business in not only crochet but in jewelry and other creative ways.
All of my work is custom made and I am proud to put the “Made in the USA” stamp to my online store. All of my items are handmade, by me. I am so grateful for what I have and that I am able to stay at home with my amazing little girl full time.
I am in the process of getting ready to go back to school. My daughter just passed her 2nd birthday and we will be starting gymnastics very soon. I am proud to say I am a fulltime single work at home mom.”
Amber has graciously provided me with some super cute bottle cap necklaces to offer as a giveaway on my fan page for reaching 3,000 fans. Make sure you like my fan page to get an update when I post the giveaway. 🙂
