I recently shared in another post that I want to be more intentional about having family fun days. So far, we are doing good. In fact, we kicked off April with a fun event called Springfest that was held in Little Rock, Arkansas. In fact, for this one, we had the extended family. My mom, Christian, and I hopped into the car and made the 45 minute drive to Little Rock, where we met up with my cousin and her whole family. We’d planned to meet up with another cousin and her daughter, but we missed them.
Springfest was nice! The weather was beautiful, people were friendly, there were tons of activities to engage in, and (of course) there was food galore.
We started it off by stopping at the McDonald’s section of the event. McDonald’s is an official sponsor of Springfest and they were conveniently located right at the entrance that we came to. We didn’t even have to hunt them down, lol.
We stood in line to sample their strawberry banana smoothies. My cousin and her kids just happened to be in line next to us, so after that we stopped by the selfie booth and snapped a picture of Christian and his cousins (minus the baby).
After that, the kids played on some of the massive bounce houses that were set up. I snuck away for a bit to listen to see who was about to perform on the McDonald’s Amphitheater Stage. Christian was excited to check out the mobile video station. I found out that they do birthday parties and glam parties. Might have to look into that.

We even ran into Ronald McDonald. He recognized Christian from other events and Christian tried to convince him to play, but Ronald was on duty and couldn’t. He was really nice about it, though, lol.
Then we caught one of the amazing performances by the Jesse White Tumblers (who were also sponsored in part by McDonald’s). These guys were impressive and had the whole audience riveted.
By this time, we’d worked up an appetite, so we grabbed some food from one of the many food trucks. While we ate, we watched a performance by the O’Donovan School of Irish Dance.
After that, Christian ran off to play in the sand area. He was determined to make a sand angel, lol. He also got to get in the driver’s seat for a little bit.
We made one last stop to take a picture with a few of the guys from the Jesse White Tumblers. They laughed when Christian immediately jetted off in an attempt to go back to the mobile video game station. But, alas, it was time for us to head out. We did make a stop by the Little Rock to do a little window shopping. Then we headed back home.
Overall, we had fun and I look forward to our next family fun day. I need to figure out what that will be. I’m thinking that it has been a while since we’ve been to the Museum of Discovery.
What fun family activities do you guys have planned for Spring? Let me know in the comments below.
