Are you still trying to think of a fun, simple, and affordable gift for someone on your Christmas list? This DIY Lottery Ticket Tree is a great gift for anyone who:
1. Loves games
2. Loves winning things
3. Loves money
4. Enjoys playing the lottery
5. Is easy to please
I’m pretty sure most of us fall into at least one (if not most) of these categories. It also makes a great stocking stuffer or add-on to a bigger gift.
If you know me, you know that I am cheap (I like to call it financially intelligent) and not very crafty So this DIY gift has the Tiffany stamp of approval.
It was so easy to put together!
First, I stopped by our Neighborhood Walmart to pick up some tickets. Our location has a convenient self-service dispenser that makes buying your favorite lottery tickets so easy. I just swung by the machine on my way out after I paid for our groceries.
Each of the lottery tickets gives you 5 or 6 chances to win up to $3,000. To make it even more awesome, you can enter any non-winning tickets online for a second chance to win. While I was there, I actually ran into a neighbor who was buying tickets as well. We chatted a bit and he told me that he’d actually won really big twice, so he is a huge fan of the lottery.
Then I headed across the street to Dollar Tree to pick up one of the decorative trees they are currently selling.
With a little tape, I attached each of the lottery tickets to the tree. There were 9 altogether. Depending on which tickets you buy, that would be up to 54 chances to win (not including the ability to enter online).
Voila! You have a Lottery Ticket Tree that is ready to give to someone on your Christmas list.
I’m sure that this won’t win any arts and crafts awards, but I think it’s a unique and fun gift. Plus, if there are winning tickets, it could be a gift that keeps on giving.
Do you know anyone who would love to receive a gift like this? If so, pin this post for later. Or share it if you feel like leaving subtle hints for people who may be shopping for you this year, lol.
