One thing that I have learned from working with children and from being a parent is that when it comes to playtime (arts and crafts in particular), the process is more important than the final product. Unless you have an art prodigy on your hands, more than likely arts & crafts time will be messy and imperfect. Your kids will draw outside of the lines. Googly eyes will be glued on in random places. The sky will be green and the grass will be purple.

How many of you teach your children about financial literacy and entrepreneurship? Both of those are definitely being added to Christian’s curriculum. I would much rather he learn the skills of saving and making money from a young age than have to learn the hard way as an adult. Money is not my sole concern in this world, but no one can deny that not having enough money OR not knowing how to manage the money that you do have can create a life that is full of stress and difficulty.

Many states are celebrating College Savings Day today (May 29th) in order to promote their 529 savings programs. I was lucky enough to be invited to a blogger event yesterday (more on that awesome experience here) where I learned about my state’s program and what it can mean for our children and grandchildren. Yesterday I had the extreme pleasure of attending an event at P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain Farm here in Arkansas. I was extended an invitation a few months ago by P. Allen Smith’s marketer extraordinaire, Mimi San Pedro (who was a little burst of sassy sunshine on that rainy day). I am ashamed to admit that when she first approached me, I was leery.
