I was recently invited to join the iHomeschool Network, which I’m pretty excited about. One of the things they do each year is called a 5 Day Homeschool Hopscotch. This is an event where a bunch of homeschool bloggers (or bloggers like me who discuss homeschooling topics) pick one theme they care about and blog about it for 5 days.
At first, I was hit by imposter syndrome. I’m not a homeschool expert- by any stretch of the imagination. I feel like I need more than just two years of official homeschooling under my belt to be able to consider myself even close to “expert” status.
But then, I realized that I do have something to offer: insight into homeschooling as a single parent.
Much like with working from home, I think that homeschooling is one of those things that people believe single parents just don’t (or can’t) do.While I admit that both choices come with some challenges, I have seen proof that they can be done. Not just from my own situation, but from meeting some amazing single parent homeschoolers AND entrepreneurs.
So, from April 9th-13th, I will be talking about the challenges of homeschooling as a single parent and offering up some practical solutions. If you are a single parent who is interested in homeschooling, I hope you will come back to read them. If you know a single parent who wants to homeschool, but who is worried about whether they can make it work, I’d love for you to share this with them. 🙂
Below the pinnable image, you will find my proposed schedule of topics. These are the 5 issues that I think are the most pressing.
